Recent remarkable advances in the study of tumorigenesis for hepatocellular carcinoma have implicated a pivotal role of dedifferentiation, which is supported by morphology and experimental evidence. Understanding the mechanism of how hepatocellular carcinoma develops would help plan strategies for a better prognosis for the patients suffering from it.
