(Interfax) - The Mechel coal and steel group, the assets of which are concentrated in the steel, mining, ferroalloys and transportation sectors, will spin off its business units into separate sub-holdings whose shares might be floated on the stock market as long as the parent company retains control. Mechel has already spun off its mining assets into Mechel Mining, and recently created Mechel Ferroalloys to manage its ferroalloys business. "In time, there are plans to spin off all key Mechel divisions into sub-holdings in order to increase management efficiency," Mechel senior vice president Muk-hamed Tsikanov said on Tune 8.
