RUSSIAN COS MAY USE UP EU STEEL EXPORT QUOTA BY AUG-SEPT 2007

Russian metallurgical companies may use up the 2007 autonomous quota on exports of most types of metal products to the EU countries as early as in August or September, a spokesman for the Russian Metal Exporters' Union told Interfax on June 19. The autonomous quota on selling certain types of metal products to the EU in 2007 is 2.27 million tonnes, while the quota for the same year under an EU-Russia agreement on metal products sales for 2007-2008, which has still not been ratified, is 2.9 million tonnes.
