摘要

The paper is devoted to selection of optimized techniques for detecting radionuclide radiation in testing objects with large thickness variations. We have drawn up and analyzed an adequate model describing formation of an informative signal in the presence of an inertial processing stage which is characterized by an instrumental "dead" time that cannot be extended. Boundary values of the radiation thickness and radiation intensity have been determined for selecting the digital or analogue (current) detection technique. A method has been developed to compensate fully for the systematic component in the flux intensity error caused by the instrumental dead time. With a view to testing objects with notable variations in the thickness, a method has been suggested for selective measurements of the radiation intensity.
