The election of D.P. Maheswary as President and T.V. Alexander as Vice President of the United Planters Association of Southern India (UPASI) for a second consecutive term at its recently held Annual General Meeting speaks volumes of the planting community's reaffirmed faith in their leadership. What complements their leadership calibre is the long years of first-hand planting experience both of them can very well boast of. Maheswary has 41 years of planting experience while that of Alexander spans over the past more than three decades. UPASI looks after mainly the interests of rubber, tea and coffee plantations.
