Multifunctional Process Unit for Drying and Mixing

Pegasus Mixer. To dry bulk material efficiently and with very low energy consumption, Dinnissen BV, Sevenum, Netherlands, equipped the multifunctional Pegasus mixer with a twin-axis paddle mechanism. This mechanism creates a mechanically fluidized zone that permits gentle, low-energy mixing. The two counter-rotating paddle axles throw up the materials being mixed with very low energy input (low shear). According to the manufacturer, this results in only minimum damage to the products. Exactly at the moment that the powder, pellets and granules are loosely thrown up, hot air is injected into or extracted from the process unit to facilitate drying. That can take place during or directly after mixing.
