Energy efficiency and resource development become hot topics

Powered by the need to promote increased energy efficiency, environmental preservation and responsible energy resource development-the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) approved its Energy Position Document. The document explains ASHRAE's views of energy use in buildings and the societal and economic impacts of that energy use. The document replaces the Energy Position Statement and Paper approved by ASHRAE in 1992. With buildings responsible for a third of the world's energy use, energy is a fundamental ingredient of all economic systems.
