In the dynamic field of stem cell research, each year brings the excitement of new advances alongside new challenges. Representing the membership of the International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) is a Board of Directors that plays an integral part in driving the direction of the society to best serve the field.Each year, all current active and associate members are invited to participate in an annual election to establish the composition of the Board of Directors. Each of the twenty-one members volunteers his or her time to oversee the governance, strategy, and financial viability of the society. For the ISSCR, the year culminates with its eminent annual meeting, and following each meeting a new term begins for the Board of Directors.
