High myopia is a well-known risk factor for rheg-matogenous retinal detachment and redetach-ment, as well as other ocular conditions. We present the fundus photograph of a 62-year-old patient with high myopia (-21 diopters) in her right eye that required 3 retinal detachment surgical resections to treat a rhegmatogenous detachment followed by 2 recurrences. During the past surgical treatment, silicone oil was used to provide retinal support. Because the retina remained attached and no silicone oil-related complications were noted, removal "was not indicated. The visual acuity at the present time is of hand motion perception.
