Spontaneous Regression of a Retinal Capillary Hemangioma

Retinal capillary hemangioma is a benign vascular hamartomatous tumor most commonly located in the peripheral retina. It may be an isolated retinal vascular abnormality or a manifestation of von Hippel-Lindau disease.The natural course of retinal capillary hemangioma is not entirely known, because progression, stability, or spontaneous regression may be observed. Most retinal capillary hemangioma, however, tend to progressively enlarge and cause changes in the retina.
