2016 may seem like a year in the very distant future, but the reality of time reminds us otherwise. Together with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, UNIFE set the year 2016 as a benchmark when it came to predicting where the global rail supply industry would be by then, and hence the year's inclusion in the fitting subtitle of the latest Worldwide Rail Market Study, i. e. Status Quo and Outlook 2016. The launch of the latest study follows on from the findings of an initial study conducted by UNIFE and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants back in 2006, which, thanks to member feedback and investor interest, felt needed further long-term detailing, forecasting and updating. The results of the latest study have now been published, and as an industry we are cautiously optimistic with the robust growth patterns forecast in the study. It is it seems, a good time to be in the rail industry.
