Common property resource (CPR) management: the case of Garhkundar-Dabar watershed.

摘要

This study was conducted to explore the potential for common property resource management at Garhkundar-Dabar watershed in Madhya Pradesh, India. It is established that the management and conservation of common property resources must be framed, implemented and evaluated in terms of area specific needs, socioeconomic characteristics and bio-physical attributes. Further, the village community must be encouraged for sustained community action for the operation and management of common property resources created and further development of the potential of the natural resources in the watershed. These measures are expected to provide employment opportunities, alleviate poverty, empower the community and develop human and other economic resources of the village.
