Statistics provided by AWPT and Skyjack's training division, in fact, indicate that an incredible 85 percent of lift accidents are directly related to worker error, with the other most common types of accidents being electrocution (also the leading cause of construction-related deaths in the U.S.), falls, and collapses or tipovers. In the lifting industry, when accidents happen, injury or even death more than likely will follow. Yet, unfortunately, accidents are inevitable. Even the most safety-conscious company can only provide its employees with the best possible training and empower its lift operators with the necessary knowledge to avoid accidents before they happen.
