Gemma Power Systems has started a construction contract with NTE Carolinas, an affiliate of NTE Energy, to build a 475-megawatt state-of-the-art natural gas-fired power plant in Kings Mountain, North Carolina

The Kings Mountain Energy Center is one of two similar power projects awarded to GPS by NTE; the second project, also a 475-MW facility, is in Middletown, Ohio, and received NTP clearance in October. The Ohio plant should be on line early second quarter of 2018 with the North Carolina project is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2018.
