Mediterranean diet deemed 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity'

UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, has included the Mediterranean diet in its most recent update of elements of intangible cultural heritage. The decision was made at a meeting in Kenya in November, where 47 new submissions were added to UNESCO's list, bringing the total to 21.3 elements worldwide.
