Reaching the limits of genetic testing

Pre-natal genetic testing,used in the detection of serious medical conditions in unborn babies,may have reached the limits of what it can and should detect.This was the message from Dr Ewan Birney,of the European Bioinformatics Institute,Cambridge,at the inaugural Francis Crick Lecture at the Royal Society,held late last year.
