CARMEN ANAZOR'S article, Preparing nurse leaders for global health reforms (Nursing Management, July 2012), provides great insight into the pressing need for hospital organisations to invest in nursing leadership.As the article highlights, the International Council of Nurses Leadership for Change programme is a great way to prepare nurses for healthcare reform, which will require nurse leaders to promote evidence-based practices in their institutions. Access to more evidence-based practice will ensure more high quality care measures and better patient outcomes, which could prove vital to the survival of many hospital organisations during this time of change.
