Staffing pressures in the NHS are contributing to poor student placements and mentorship for the next generation of nurses, according to senior figures. Experts told the Willis Commission on nursing education that declining nurse numbers and skill mix at cash-strapped NHS organisations mean that some students have not received high-quality practical experience.
