Thirty years ago when Mary Hinds followed her mother into nursing it was no real surprise because, she says, nursing runs in families in Northern Ireland.But Ms Hinds's rise through the ranks to become the director of RCN Northern 'Ireland would probably not have been anticipated in the early part of her career. For years, while she had two young children to look after, she worked two night shifts a week just to keep the wolf from the door.
