I did a double take at RCN congress. The queue of nurses lining up to find out about nursing abroad stretched from one side of the room to the other.Many of those queuing patiently were mature people. If they complete the application and emigration process, it is likely they will be uprooting their families as well. A proportion of those nurses appeared to be from overseas, and therefore already experienced in the disruption that moving to a new country and culture brings; they were considering doing this again.
