Hot news about Mycetophagus ater Reitter and Mycetophagus populi F. in the Paris region (Coleoptera Mycetophagidae). While studying forest biodiversity associated with dead wood, we sampled two uncommon Mycetophagus species (Coleoptera Mycetophagidae) using window-flight traps in the Rambouillet forest (Yvelines department). With Berginus tamarisci Wollaston and Mycetophagus fulvicollis F., 13 individuals of Mycetophagus (Mycetophagus) ater (Reitter, 1879) and 4 individuals of Mycetophagus (Philomyces) populi F., 1798 were caught in the western and north-western parts of the forest. Distribution and ecology are discussed.
