Four DeltaI = 1 bands consisting of strong magnetic dipole transitions have been observed in Pr-133, produced in the Mo-100(Cl-37,4ngamma) reaction, using the EUROGAM II gamma-ray spectrometer. The structure of three of these bands is discussed in terms of prolate high-K configurations, related to the I-pi = K-pi = 8(-) isomeric state (vh(11/2)g(7/2)) in the Ce-132 core. The fourth band, with a reduced moment of inertia, is interpreted as a collectively rotating oblate structure involving rotationally aligned h(11/2) neutrons. (C) 2003 Elsevier B.V.
