Most slurry used on German potato farms is from cattle and data are presented of its effect on crop yield and quality. Optimum application rates for cattle slurry are between 15 and 35 m3/ha. The effects of other organic fertilizers such as bonemeal, poultry droppings, or crop resides are also discussed. Calculations are presented of N mineralization rates from 14 organic fertilizers. Tables are presented of DM, N, P and K levels in 42 organic fertilizers..
