Local yield determination in potatoes

Details are presented of experiments carried out in 1997-98 at Klostergut Experiment Station, Scheyern, Germany, to test the accuracy of yield-measuring systems on potato harvesters. In the first year the system showed an error of +1.6% with a standard deviation of 4.4%, and in the second year the error was -4.3% with a standard deviation of 3.7%. A line diagram is presented for the Harvestmaster HM500 system and a yield map is presented showing variation in potato yield across the field.
