Actara - a new insecticide to control pests on potatoes.

The new insecticide, Actara, a second-generation, recently registered insecticide, with the active ingredient of 250 g/kg thiamethoxam, is described. The preparation is rain tolerant and controls Colorado beetles (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) and aphids, including aphid virus vectors. The temperature range is from 10 degrees C upwards. A maximum of four treatments with 100 g/kg each are allowed. The product is harmful to bees (B1) and it can not be used if honeydew is formed on the potatoes.
