Not just roses: Wairere Nursery offers thousands of roses and much, much more

Staff at Wairere Nursery are used to cars pulling into the parking lot with an empty trailer bobbing behind. Lots of customers travel many kilometres to visit the nursery in Gordonton near Hamilton and they come with the aim of buying up big. "We havemore than 10,000 roses on site and hundreds of different varieties," says long-time staff member Sol Taplin. "Many garden centres have cut back on their range of roses so we get people travelling down from Auckland and the Coromandel who come to buy plants by the trailer load."
