Sally Austin and her daughter l-'reesia have just finished the flowers for a bridal party and they're both well pleased. "We were only going to do the bride's, but they looked so beautiful we got carried away," says Sally. The bouquets, sprays and buttonholes were all woven from harakeke, or native flax, a plant that plays an important part in Sally's life in Motueka. As does art.
