Practical experiences with transcritical CO{sub}2 - refrigeration systems utilizing expanders

The application of an expander in the transcritical refrigeration process is a promising chance to enhance the COP especially at high temperature at the inlet of the expansion device. Calculations were verified by experimental investigations. These results are presented and the obtained experience with running the machines are discussed.
