Scottish Study to Compare Predicted With Actual Wind Farm Impacts

The Scottish government is sponsoring research to determine whether the noise and other impacts predicted by wind farm developers in planning documents are consistent with the actual impacts experienced by nearby residents once the facility is operational. In addition to comparing predicted and actual sound levels at 10 wind farms across Scotland, the study will examine how local residents experience and react to noise, visual, and shadow-flicker impacts.
