NPS Bans Drones in Parks Over Noise and Safety Concerns

NPS director Jonathan Jarvis has temporarily prohibited launching, landing, or operating unmanned aircraft on lands and waters under his jurisdiction. The action comes after incidents at Grand Canyon National Park, Mount Rushmore National Memorial Amphitheater, and Zion National Park, in which noise from drones disturbed visitors or wildlife and use of the aircraft raised safety concerns.
