Traumatic inferior gluteal artery pseudoaneurysm with compressive neuropathy managed with endovascular embolization and surgery

Gluteal artery pseudoaneurysm represents less than 1 % of all arterial aneurysms,. [1]. The majority of gluteal artery pseudoaneurysms are supplied by the superior gluteal artery [2]. Inferior gluteal artery (IGA) pseudoaneurysm is an uncommon condition [3]. Endovascular therapy is generally the first line of treatment, but surgery may be preferred for patients with compressive neuropathy [4]. However, gluteal hematoma removal carries a high risk of hemorrhage [5-8]. We present a case of blunt traumatic IGA pseudoaneurysm with compressive neuropathy of the sciatic nerve successfully managed with endovascular embolization and surgery.
