A field experiment was conducted at Instructional Farm, Vellayani during Kharif season, 1999 to study the effect of different weed management practices on nutrient removal by weeds and brinjal. Nutrient removal by weeds was highest under unweeded check. Plant uptake of major nutrients was maximum under weed free check followed by black polythene mulching while uptake was least under unweeded check.
