Ex-BP Engineer Charged in Macondo Disaster

Kurt Mix, 50, a resident of Katy, Texas, last week became the first person to be charged with criminal wrongdoing in connection with the 2010 Macondo disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. The former BP engineer was freed on $100,000 bond after being charged by the US Department of Justice with two counts of obstruction of justice by destroying more than 300 emails that related to the flowrate of oil from the damaged well.
