In order to improve collaboration among agencies toensure that offshore energy development is done in an envi-ronmentally sound manner, the Bureau of Ocean EnergyManagement, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEM) and theNational Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU).The MOU, which is consistent with recommendationsfrom the National Commission on the Deepwater Horizon OilSpill and Offshore Drilling, was announced at the Interna-tional Oil Spill Conference in Portland, OR, early last week.
