Alaska North Slope LNG Exports Gain Interest from Asian Buyers

Efforts to commercialize Alaska's stranded northern gas have advanced slowly but surely ever since the top North Slope producers and TransCanada aligned earlier this year on a tentative plan to pursue LNG exports instead of a lower 48 pipeline (NGW Jan.9'12). In particular, Alaskan government officials and leaders in the private sector have held a number of promising talks with potential LNG customers in Asia.
