LNG export projects on Canada's west coast may still be uncertain, but that isn't stopping project developers elsewhere in the Great North (NGW Oct.27'14). Sponsors still believe exporting LNG from Eastern Canada is a good opportunity despite multiple ventures already on the drawing boards and a well-supplied Atlantic Basin market. GNL Quebec, backed by equity funds Freestone Capital and Breyer Capital, has proposed construction of the Energie Sa-guenay project. The project has applied for an LNG export license from Canada's National Energy Board. The request seeks authorization to send out as much as 11 million tons/yr (1.6 billion cubic feet per day).
