40000-tonne Shandong iron powder plant to open

As China's steel industry forges ahead, Laiwu Iron and Steel plan to open a massive new iron powder plant at their base in Shandong Province by the end of the year. Producing 40000 tonnes a year, the heart of the production system will be an atomiser that can produce 20-tonne lots supplied by Atomising Systems Ltd (ASL), of Sheffield, UK. With the contract for the atomiser signed only in April, ASL had to move smartly to design and build the unit ready for shipping by an August deadline. The company also supplied engineering services to enable local procurement of ancillary equipment.
