The research appears in the Proceedings of the RoyalSociety B. Psychologists measured how good people are at feelingtheir body from within by asking them to count theirheartbeats over a few minutes.They then measured howgood people are at perceiving their own body-image fromthe outside by using a procedure that tricks therm intofeeling that afake, rubber hand is their own hand.
