The Mil Mi-24 Hind was designed as an attack helicopter and troop carrier and was a development based on the Mil Mi 8/17 series. Built by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant in the Soviet Union (Russia), the first prototype flew in 1969. After 3 more years of research and refinement the first production version, Mi-24 Hind A took to the skies in 1972 and started a family of various design versions which still, to this day, are being built and re-modernized.
