摘要

Carbon-encapsulated Fe nanoparticles were synthesized by a modified arc plasmamethod using methane and starch as carbon sources, respectively. The particles werecharacterized in detail by transmission electron microscope and X-ray powder diffrac-tion. They are somewhat spherical in shape and the coating layers of the two sampletypes are composed of amorphous carbon. Magnetic measurements using a vibratingsample magnetometer demonstrate that the prepared composites have different mag-netic properties.
