Vibration of a Rigid Body Suspended by Taut Strings

摘要

A solid body is suspended by equally spaced taut strings. The characteristic equations for small vibrations of the system are formulated exactly. Depending on the mass and moment of inertia parameters of the body, the fundamental frequency may be governed by either the symmetric mode or the antisymmetric mode.
