CANE MILLERS BENEFIT FROM STRONG JUL/SEP SUGAR QUOTATIONS

Listed Brazilian sugar and ethanol producers increased their revenues in the Jul/Sep quarter on the back of the risen sugar prices. At the same time, the sector was suffering from reduced cane supplies in the Centre/South. Tereos International and Sao Martinho reported y/y declines in Apr/Sep cane crushings. Additionally, on the back of the increasing sugar prices amid the tight cane supplies, ethanol production fell on the year. Another market factor which hit the financial results of the listed companies was the depreciation of the Brazilian Real.
