The Mines and Energy Ministry reported that the biodiesel plant in Fa-catativa in the department of Cundinamarca is to come online in the coming weeks. According to F.O. Licht data, the plant has a production capacity of 170,000 tonnes of palm oil methyl ester per year. The government on February 15 introduced a B-5 manr date in the southern and western regions of the country namely in the departments of Narino, Cauca, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Caldas, Quindio, Tolima, Huila and Putumayo. In Feb/Mar three other facilities are also due to start production: 1. Daabon's 30,000 tonne Santa Marta, Magdalena project.
