Industry sources reported that eurrent capacilv utilisation in Brazil is roughly 50%. Domestic biodiesel production capacity is estimated at 3.3 mln tonnes per year. Due to an expected decline in diesel use in 2009 by around 10%, biodiesel demand for blending purposes is also to decline. Thus, the local sector is demanding to increase the current B-3 mandate to B-4.
