ABENGOA ACHIEVES HIGH SALES GROWTH IN BIOENERGY DIVISION

Abengoa of Spain in 2008 achieved pro forma sales of EUR3.769 bln, up by 17.3% from EUR3.215 bln in 2007. The bioenergy division, which comprises the company's ethanol and biodiesel interests, had a turnover of EUR830.1 mln, a rise of 35.3% on the year. Abengoa's gross profits rose by 38.7% to EUR627.2 mln in 2008 to which the bioenergy division contributed EUR111.6 mln (+39.8%). EBITDA in the bioenergy division rose by 67% to EUR90.7 mln while the whole group achieved a growth of 41% to EUR 541.2 mln.
