ATLAS Copco has introduced two new rock drills that are targeted at the tunnelling and geothermal markets. COP 2233 is a new, 22 kW, hydraulic rock drill for hole ranges of 51-76 mm. It is designed for drifting and tunnelling, as well as extension drilling. Equipped with a well-proven, dual-damping system, the COP 2238 ensures the drill bit maintains constant contact with the rock, retightening the drill-string joints between each impact. This configuration allows the rock drill to operate at a consistently high-impact frequency, resulting in a higher penetration rate, even during extension drilling of probe or grout holes.
