Sydney-based Centennial Coal Ltd's run of mine (ROM) coal production for the March quarter totalled 4.2 million tonnes and 12.5 Mt on a year-to-date basis - up 13 percent and 8 percent on the previous respective corresponding periods. One of the largest underground coal producers in New South Wales, Centennial has 15 coal mines in the state and- is currently seeking development approval for the low strip-ratio, open-cut Anvil Hill coal project, situated west of Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter region, where production is expected to begin by early 2008.
