Defining a resource of more ) than 4 million ounces at its Jinfeng deposit marks quite a milestone for Sino Gold Ltd. Resources at the deposit have increased to 25.3 million tonnes grading 5 grams/tonne for a contained 4.04 million ounces. Included in this are measured and indicated resources totalling 21.2 Mt at 4.9 g/t for 3.32 million oz. The Sydney-based Sino has been active in China since 1996 and is the country's largest foreign gold producer. It is developing the Jinfeng mine in Guizhou Province and operating the Jianchaling gold mine in Shaanxi Province. Once fully developed, Jinfeng will be the second largest gold mine in China with production of 180,000 ounces per annum and potentially the largest when the phase two expansion increases capacity to 300,000 ozpa.
