Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund strikes gold with 2010 state of Michigan lease auctions

The Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) received an unprecedented amount of money in 2010 due to two large lease auctions held this year.The May 2010 and October 2010 auctions together brought in almost $188 million in bonus money to the state, nearly as much in a single year as the combined total revenue from all such auctions dating back to 1929.
