Redesigned torch cutting machines for slab cutting

The Austrian manufacturer Framag Industrieanlagenbau redesigned their slab cutting machines. Higher cutting speeds and shorter non-cutting times result in a sustainable reduction in the slab cutting cycle time which is more favourable for short-slab production and high casting speeds. The first machines have already been installed and proven their performance under production conditions. Steel mills require machinery that is indestructible in continuous operation under most arduous conditions - machines that will give maximum per formance with minimum breakdown time. So it is always highly recommended to have torch cutting machines capable of high-speed cut ting and of highest reliability combined with a maintenance-friendly design. In order to meet higher customer requirements as well as shortened delivery time Framag has redesigned the slab cutting machines type SGN. The main target was to consider performance increase without loss of quality. The project was finished successfully and the first machines have been installed and commissioned(figures 1 and 2).
